% 15.01.2018 The present petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.491/2014 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC on the complaint of respondent no.2 at police station Jamia Nagar. Parties are present in person. They have arrived at a settlement. The divorce has been granted inter se the parties under the personal law of the parties. The parties have settled their disputes. The petitioner no.1 has agreed to pay a sum of Rs.21.50 lakhs to respondent no.2 in full and final settlement of her all claims of which a sum of Rs.9.50 lakhs had already been paid and sum of Rs.12 lakhs has been paid to respondent no.2 by way of demand drafts in the Court today. The settlement deed inter se the parties is a part of the record. It is marked
as Ex.PA. The parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions as contained in Ex.PA.
To secure the ends of justice, it would be a fit case where the prayer made in the petition should be granted. Accordingly, FIR No.491/2014 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC at police station Jamia Nagar and all the proceedings emanating therefrom stand quashed.
Petition disposed of.
