% 18.01.2018 This is a petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India filed by the petitioners, who claim to be regular street vendors and are hawking at Sarai Kale Khan, New Delhi, more particularly as detailed in the writ petition. They further claim to have a valid hawking licence. The grievance of the petitioners is that despite their licences, they are being harassed and they have received information that SDMC is preparing to carry out an eviction drive.
In view of the stand taken by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) as reflected from the order dated 11.01.2018 and reiterated in Court today that SDMC propose to initiate removal action only against the illegal and unauthorised street vendors and in case the petitioners would produce their valid trade licence, no action would be taken against them, learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press the present writ petition.
The present writ petition along with pending application is dismissed as not pressed.
Copy of the order be given dasti, as prayed.
