The present petition was filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following reliefs:

"(i) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to conduct cadre review of trade of Band in Central Reserve Police force in a time bound manner and take into consideration suggestions given by petitioners for creation of promotional avenues in said trade while conducting the cadre review consequently provide adequate promotional avenues for the personnel working in said trade in Central Reserve Police Force including the petitioners as also to not take duties of General Duty Cadre/Trade from the personnel working in Trade of Band in Central Reserve Police Force including the petitioners." 2.

It is the common case of the parties that during the pendency of the present petition, the respondents have conducted a comprehensive cadre review of Group B and C (Brass and Pipe Band) posts in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). A copy of the order dated 16.02.2024 in this regard has been handed over in the Court and is taken on record. In the light of the aforesaid, we are of the view that when the cadre review as was being sought by the petitioners has already been completed, nothing further survives for adjudication in the present petition. In case, the petitioners still have any grievance regarding the manner of the review, it would be open for the petitioners to assail the cadre review detailed in the respondent's order dated 16.02.2024 as per law. 4.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioners to seek legal recourse against the aforesaid cadre review as per law by raising all grounds permissible in law including the grounds raised in the present petition.
