Despite service having been effected on the respondent as well as the counsel for the respondent as directed vide order dated 21.1.2019, there is no representation on behalf of the respondent.

The record shows that upon appointment of the Arbitrator by the petitioner, he entered upon reference on 25.7.2017. 3.
With the expiry of the statutory period of twelve (12) months, it appears that the parties agreed to the extension of time for a further period of six (6) months.

I am informed by counsel for the petitioner that the matter is at the stage of evidence.

Accordingly, given the time and money invested by the parties, I am inclined to extend the time for concluding the arbitration proceedings and for rendering an award till 30.6.2019.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 7.
The Registry will despatch a copy of this order to the respondent. 8.
