This is a petition under Section 29A (4) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator for pronouncement of the arbitral award.

It is stated that disputes arose between the parties and a Sole Arbitrator was appointed to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties on 11.05.2023. It is stated that pleadings were completed and the mandate of the Arbitrator was extended for a period of six months by mutual consent of the parties on 18.05.2024.

It is stated that the award has been reserved and the matter is at the stage of pronouncement of arbitral award. It is stated that since the mandate of the Arbitrator has come to an end on 16.01.2025, the Petitioner has approached this Court seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitrator. 4.

objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitrator. 5.

Keeping in view the facts of the case and since the matter has been reserved for pronouncement of the arbitral award, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitrator till 31.07.2025 so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required by the Tribunal. Further, the period from 16.01.2025 till today is regularized. 6.
