This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeking issuance of a direction to the respondent nos.1 and 2 to provide necessary police protection/security to the life of the petitioners against the threats to life allegedly received from the family members of the petitioner no.1, who are arrayed as respondent nos. 3 to 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners got married against the wishes of the respondent nos.3 to 5 on 12.02.2024 in an Arya Samaj Temple, and have started living together The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. thereafter. After the factum of the petitioners being married was discovered by the respondent nos. 3 to 5, they became very aggressive and extended threats to the petitioners of dire consequences of the same.

Notice is accepted by Mr.Amit Peswani, Advocate on behalf of Ms.Nandita Rao, the learned ASC (Crl.) for the respondent nos.1 and 2.

Without entering into the veracity of the allegations made in the petition, it is directed that the petitioners shall approach the Station House Officer (SHO) of the concerned Police Station and the SHO shall share with the petitioners his phone number as also that of the Beat Constable.

In case the petitioners perceive any threat, the petitioners may contact either of them for seeking protection. The concerned SHO/ Beat Constable shall immediately look into the grievance of the petitioners and take necessary action.
