The present petition has been filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India seeking directions for the Court of learned Principal Judge, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi. It is submitted that the petitioner herein had filed a divorce petition in the year 2016 being HMA No. 30/2016 (new case HMA No. 866/2018), and issues were framed in the year 2021. 4.

litigation between the parties with respect to the various issues is going on since last 13 years which in itself is a harassment and mental torture to the petitioner herein. Therefore, it is submitted that the petitioner seeks for resolution of the disputes, however, the trial of his aforesaid divorce petition is moving at a snail's pace.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that in these circumstances, the direction be issued to the learned Principal Judge, Family Court in HMA No. 866/2018 titled as ̳Raman Arora v. Shalu' to conduct the trial on a day to day basis.

Time and again guidelines have been issued for Family Courts for early disposal of the petitions filed before it. In Smt. Sumi Mol vs. Sh. Suresh Kumar E. K. in MAT APP. (F.C.) 127/2023 decided on 31.07.2023, the guidelines mentioning the timeframe within which the petitions are to be disposed of, has also been mentioned. 7.

In view of the above, the learned Principal Judge, Family Court is directed to expeditiously dispose of the present petition preferably within a period of 08 months.
