The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondent nos. 1 and 2 for providing police protection to the petitioners.

The petitioners claim that they have married contrary to the wishes of the family members of petitioner no. 1 and particularly, respondent nos. 3 to

7. The petitioners state that their relatives, being unhappy with the aforesaid marriage, have issued threats to them and they apprehend harm at their hands. An additional affidavit has been filed on behalf of the petitioners

stating that they are currently residing at CPO 151, Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi-110062.

In view of the averments made in the present petition, this Court considers it apposite to direct the SHO, P.S. Ambedkar Nagar to examine the allegations of the petitioners. He shall evaluate the threat perception and afford the petitioners such protection as he considers necessary. 6.

The SHO concerned shall also provide a contact number of a responsible official/beat constable of the said station who could be contacted by the petitioners in case of any eventuality/emergency. 7.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. 8.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 9.
