By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 585/2025, registered at Police Station Moti Nagar, New Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 74/115(2)/329(3)/351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.

The petitioners and respondent nos. 2 to 4 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Moti Nagar, New Delhi. 6.

Briefly stated, the facts of the present case are that on account of certain general issues pertaining to the locality gave rise to disputes and unwarranted altercations between the parties. Consequently, due to the said disputes, on a complaint filed by respondent nos. 2 to 4, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners for commission of offence punishable under Sections 74/115(2)/329(3)/351(3) of BNS. After investigation, the chargesheet was filed before the concerned Court. It is stated that a crossFIR bearing No. 586/2025 was also registered against the respondents. It is further stated that with the intervention of respectable persons of the society and relatives of the parties, both the parties have settled all their disputes vide Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement dated 20.01.2026. 7.

The learned APP for the State submits that the petitioners herein have no previous involvement in any other case.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 to 4 who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat and they have no objection, if the present FIR is quashed. 9.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 585/2025, registered at Police Station Moti Nagar, New Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 74/115(2)/329(3)/351(3) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of the above, the present petition alongwith pending application, if any, stands disposed of.
