Petitioner impugns order dated 29.12.2023, whereby the Additional Commissioner had rejected the request of the petitioner for grant of interest on the delayed payment of refund for the tax period 2018-19. 2.
Learned counsel for respondent submits that pursuant to issuance of notice in these proceedings, the matter was re-examined by the Deputy Commissioner and interest for the said period has been duly sanctioned. He submits that not only for the said period, but refund has also been sanctioned for the tax period 2019-20. The interest has been computed and a pay order in the sum of Rs. 17,70,132/- dated 02.04.2024 has been issued. A copy of the order dated 02.04.2024 and a cheque dated 02.04.2024 has been produced in Court. The same is taken on record. 3.
