By virtue of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), the petitioner seeks the following reliefs:- "a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ, order or direction thereby setting aside Order arisen from notice bearing no. F .18/102/2003/2023/HG/3493-98 dated 04.12.2023 according to minutes of meeting of Sentence Review Board held on 21.12.2023 thereby rejecting the premature release of the Petitioner. b) Issue writ of mandamus or any other writ, order or direction for premature release the petitioner forthwith. 2.

Learned ASC for the State accepts notice and without adverting to the merits involved, upon instructions from the Jail Authorities, submits that as the case of the petitioner was last considered by the SRB way back on 21.12.2023, and since then the petitioner has undergone a further period of almost two years and three months, the case of the petitioner shall be considered in the next SRB to be held in the near future. 4.
In this backdrop, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no other relief is left to be pressed in the present petition. 5.
