% 07.02.2020 1.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration and rendering of an award within 12 months effective from 24.11.2019.

2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon the disputes having arisen between the parties, the matter was referred to arbitration and the learned Arbitrator entered reference pursuant to the order dated 04.05.2018 passed by this Court. Despite the parties diligent participation, these proceedings, have yet not concluded and, in the meanwhile, the mandate of the Arbitrator has expired on 24.11.2019. He, therefore, prays that the time for completion of proceedings and rendering of an award be extended by a further period of 12 months, effective from 25.11.2019. 3.

Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondent does not oppose the said prayer.

4.

Keeping in view the fact that much time and effort has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended upto 30.06.2020 effective from 25.11.2019.

5.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. REKHA PALLI, J FEBRUARY 07, 2020/sr
