By way of present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing no. 0162/2017, registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing, for the offences punishable under Sections 420/467/468/471/511/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

The petitioner and the authorized representative of respondent no. 2 are present before this Court. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Economic Offences Wing.

Briefly stated facts of the present case are that on 21.09.2017, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner. application moved by the parties, the said suit was decreed as compromised.

It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter.

On a query made by this Court, the authorized representative of respondent no.2, who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise on behalf of the company. It is also stated by him that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0162/2017, registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing, for the offences punishable under Sections 420/467/468/471/511/120B of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to costs of Rs. 20,000/-, to be deposited by the petitioner with Delhi Police Martyr's Fund, within a period of seven days from date.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 9.
