The Petitioners are working on the post of Junior Assistants with Motilal Nehru College (Evening) for nearly 15 years on a contractual basis. They assert that they were appointed against sanctioned vacancies and that their engagement was not through any backdoor entry. They further state that over the years their work has continued, albeit with certain artificial breaks allegedly introduced by the Respondents. Having rendered more than ten years of continuous service against sanctioned posts, they claim that they are entitled to be regularised.

In this regard, they submit that they have already submitted two representations dated 17th February, 2026 and 28th February, 2026, annexed The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. with the present petition, which are still pending consideration. 3.
Counsel for the Petitioners, on instructions, submits that at present the Petitioners would be satisfied if the Respondents are directed to consider the aforesaid representations and pass a speaking order thereon. He also seeks liberty to take recourse to appropriate remedies in the event the grievances of the Petitioners still survive. He further places reliance on the judgments of the Supreme Court in Jaggo v. Union of India & Ors.1 and Bhola Nath v. State of Jharkhand2, and the judgments passed by this Court in Pawan Sharma & Ors. v. Government of NCT of Delhi,3 and Mohd. Ansari and Ors v. Delhi Technological University.4 4.
In view of the limited prayer made before this Court, the request is allowed and the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Respondents to consider and decide the aforesaid representations within a period of four weeks from today.

All rights and contentions of the parties are left open. 6.
In the event the grievance of the Petitioners is not addressed, they shall be at liberty to take recourse to appropriate remedies in accordance with law.
