This petition has been filed by the petitioner, praying for the grant of Special Duty Allowances to the petitioner for the service rendered at 124 BN, CRPF, Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh, from 15.04.1999 to 09.04.2002, and at 28 BN CRPF, Churachandpur, Manipur, from 06.01.2003 to 14.03.2005, alongwith the arrears with the interest at the rate of 6% P.A.

The learned counsel for the petitioner, in support of the claim of the petitioner, places reliance on the Judgment of the Supreme Court in Director General CRPF vs Janardan Singh, (2018) 7 SCC 656. 3.

Keeping in view the averments made in the petition, we are of the opinion that the respondents should treat the present petition as a representation of the petitioner and decide on the same within a period of eight weeks from today, communicating a reasoned order to the petitioner. In case the petitioner is held entitled to the reliefs as claimed, the same should be released to the petitioner within a further two weeks thereafter. In case the claim of the petitioner is rejected, it shall be open to the petitioner to challenge the same in accordance with law.
