By way of this petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No.1117/2014, under Sections 406/498A/506 IPC, registered at P.S. Najafgarh, Delhi.

Issue notice. Learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. Respondent No.2 Savita is present in the Court and accepts notice. She has been identified by ASI Tej Ram, PS Najafgarh. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner and the respondent No.2 submit that the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled and they are living together for the last 1 1⁄2 years approximately. Both the parties are also present before this Court and submit that they have settled the matter of their own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Their signed statements dated 8th May, 2017 have been placed on record. Respondent No.2 states that she has no objection if the FIR in question and consequent proceedings are quashed.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR No.1117/2014, under Section 406/498A/506 IPC, registered at PS Najafgarh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms, along with the pending application.
