Status report has been handed over in Court. The same is taken on record.

Challenging the order dated 4th December, 2017 declining to grant parole to the petitioner, the petitioner has preferred the present petition on the ground that he has to take care of his old aged mother, wife, one minor daughter and to maintain social ties. A perusal of the nominal roll reveals that the petitioner was granted parole for a period of three weeks by this Court with effect from 1st March, 2017 followed by two spells of three weeks and two weeks by the competent authority with effect from 20th July, W.P.(CRL) 159/2018

2017 and 18th October, 2017 respectively. The petitioner had filed a third application for furlough and on verification it was found that the petitioner was granted furlough for a period of two weeks with effect from 9th January, 2018 to 24th January, 2018. Since the petitioner has already been granted concession of furlough for a period of two weeks and the rejection to release the petitioner on parole was on the ground that the petitioner had recently availed two furloughs, this court finds no error in the impugned order. Application is dismissed.

Copy of the order be communicated to the petitioner through Superintendent, Tihar Jail.
