The petitioner sought certain information under the Right to Information Act, 2005 ('RTI Act'). The application of the petitioner was rejected on 04.02.2025 by the Central Public Information Officer. The petitioner has not challenged the said order in an appeal and has directly approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. 2.
There is no reason as to why the petitioner should not first avail the appellate remedies provided for under the RTI Act. 3.
The petition is, therefore, dismissed. The petitioner shall be at liberty to avail the alternative remedy in accordance with law.
