Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1.

Respondent no.2 Ms. Baljeet Kaur is present in Court along with her counsel and accepts notice. She has been identified by ASI Karan Singh of police station Mukherjee Nagar.

It is submitted that petitioner is brother of respondent no. 2. On account of some trivial issue, a quarrel took place between them, which led to registration of FIR No. 890/2017 under Section 323/341/506 IPC at police station Mukherjee Nagar.

During the investigation, Sections 354/354-

A/354-B/506/509/427 IPC were added. With the intervention of their elders in the family, petitioner and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably, vide Memorandum of Understanding/Compromise Deed dated 16th January, 2019. Respondent no. 2 says that she has no objection in case aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Affidavit of respondent no. 2 to this effect is also on record at pages 29-30.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
