Although the writ petition has been preferred seeking a writ for quashing of seizure proceedings in respect of gold which has been detained and for release thereof, learned counsel for the writ petitioner today submits that the petitioner desires to move the respondent by way of an application seeking redemption of gold which has been seized.

He, therefore, prays for disposal of the writ petition with appropriate directions being framed for the respondent to examine the application which is proposed to be made.

In view of the aforesaid and subject to due verification and all contentions on merit being kept open, we dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the writ petitioner to move an appropriate application for redemption of the seized gold articles.
