This Petition under Section 29A(4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Material on record indicates that the Arbitral Tribunal consisting of a Sole Arbitrator was constituted by this Court on 21.07.2020. Pleadings stood completed in August, 2020. It is stated that the parties had extended the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by mutual consent for a period of six months. time to time and the last of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended by this Court vide Order dated 30.08.2024 for a period of six months. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is going to expire on 28.02.2025.

It is stated that examination of witnesses of the Respondent is going on before the Arbitral Tribunal.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent has no objection if the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended. 5.
In view of the facts of the present case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 31.03.2026, so that the award can be pronounced.

The Petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
