Although the writ petition seeks various reliefs, learned counsel for the writ petitioner presently seeks to confine the prayer to a direction being framed for disposal of the rectification application which is stated to have been moved. A copy of that application stands placed on our record at Annexure P-8.

Ms. Gupta, learned counsel representing the respondents, states that subject to due verification of all facts and contentions on merits being kept open, the competent authority shall duly examine and dispose of the pending rectification application in accordance with law and with due expedition. The statement so made is recorded and accepted.
