O R D E R

% 08.01.2016 The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the police to provide protection to the petitioners.

Manisha and Raja Kumar @ Akash are both adults and have married each other of their own free will and desire on 19th December, 2015.

Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners states that they [page 1 of 3] apprehend threat to their life and liberty at the hands of the parents and paternal uncles of Manisha. A complaint in this behalf dated

20th December, 2015, was purportedly addressed to the DCP, East District, Mandawali Fazalpur Dairy. However, no response is stated to be forthcoming.

Notice. Ms.Kamna Vohra, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Crl.) accepts notice on behalf of respondent no. 1 to 4. It is not considered necessary to issue notice to respondent no.5 to 9 since no direction is being issued against them.

In view of the foregoing, the present petition is allowed. The S.H.O., Police Station Krishna Nagar, Delhi, is directed to afford adequate protection to the Manisha and Raja Kumar @ Akash. The Beat Constable of the concerned area shall also be sensitized in this behalf. The telephone number of the SHO of the concerned police station as well as the Beat Constable shall be provided to Manisha and Raja Kumar @ Akash in order to enable the latter to contact the former in the event of any threat or apprehension.

In view of the above the writ petition is disposed of. [page 2 of 3] A copy of this order be given dasti to learned counsel for the parties under the signature of the Court Master.
