This is a petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making the arbitral award.

It is stated that disputes arose between the parties and an Arbitral Tribunal was constituted to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties. It is stated that the Arbitral Tribunal held its first meeting on 11.12.2021. It is stated that pleadings were completed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended for a period of six months by mutual consent of the parties on 25.05.2023.

of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal and this Court vide Order dated 07.03.2024 in O.M.P. (MISC.) (COMM.) 188/2024 extended the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year, i.e., till 28.02.2025. It is stated that the matter is at the stage of Respondent's evidence. 4.

It is stated that since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal will come to an end on 28.02.2025, the Petitioner has approached this Court by filing the instant petition for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 5.

Learned Counsel for the Respondent states that the Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 6.

Keeping in view the facts of the case and since the matter is at the stage of Respondent's evidence, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal from 28.02.2025 till 31.12.2025 so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required by the Tribunal.
