By virtue of the present application under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the applicant seeks extension of interim bail granted to him by this Court vide order dated 21.01.2026 in Case No. VIII/01/DZU/2024 registered on 17.01.2024 under Sections 21/23/25/27/28/29/30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) at PS: Narcotics Control Bureau, by a further period of twelve weeks on medical grounds.

At the outset, Mr. N. Hariharan, learned senior counsel for the applicant submits that since the applicant has been suffering from various ailments, the applicant requires further medical supervision considering the nature of his ailments.

Mr. Anand V. Khatri, learned ASC for the respondent has handed over a detailed Status Report qua verification of the medical documents and the same is taken on record. Although, learned ASC for the respondent submits that said Status Report confirms the medical condition as also the treatments pursuant thereto being taken by the applicant, however, considering the gravity and nature of the offence involved, the present application is liable to be dismissed. 4.

Though the learned ASC is opposing extension of interim bail, but taking into account the medical documents have been verified as well as the nature of medical condition, especially, since the applicant is suffering from numerous ailments and he requires further medical care, the interim bail granted vide order dated 21.01.2026 is extended for a further period of eight weeks on the same terms and conditions contained therein. 5.

As such, the application is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 6.

A copy of the present order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent for information and compliance forthwith.
