Present public interest litigation has been filed seeking issuance of directions to the Respondents (GNCTD, Bar Council of India and Bar Council of Delhi) to formulate and ensure timely and effective implementation of standardized stipend and remuneration guidelines ensuring bare minimum stipend for young lawyers and law interns in India. A perusal of the petition reveals that a representation was made by the Petitioner to the Bar Council of India and Bar Council of Delhi as recently as 20th February, 2024.

Since the Respondents have not had sufficient time to deal with the said representation, this Court is of the view that the present petition is premature. Accordingly, the same is disposed of as premature with a direction to the Respondents to decide the Petitioner's representation dated 20th February, 2024 in accordance with law by way of reasoned order as expeditiously as possible.
