O R D E R

% 30.01.2020 This is a petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ of Mandamus directing return of the articles of the petitioner confiscated by the police and for quashing and setting aside section 66 of the DP Act and also for direction to the commissioner of Police to frame guidelines with regard to the manner in which the street vendors are to be dealt with by the policemen.

On the last date of hearing, it was prayed by Ld. Counsel for the petitioner that he is pressing for prayer no.1 I of the petition only i.e. for issue a writ of mandamus or for any other appropriate writ, order directing the respondent/Police to forthwith return the articles of the petitioner and had not pressed the other prayers. Status report has been filed by respondent no. 1/SHO PS Vasant Kunj North.

As per the status report, the cart(Rehri) has been released and handed over to its rightful owner i.e. petitioner by the order of ACP, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

In view of the above, the prayer no. 1 of the petitioner with regard to return of his cart(Rehri) stands satisfied and since other prayers have not been pressed, nothing survives in the petition.
