O.M.P. (MISC.) 3/2019 This petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Act') has been filed by the parties to the arbitration proceedings seeking extension of time for making of the Arbitral Award by the Sole Arbitrator.

Counsel for the respondents submits that though time could have been mutually extended without intervention of the Court under Section 29A(3) of the Act, the present petition was filed by way of abundant caution. In view of the above, the time for making of the Award is extended by a further period of six months with effect from 17.01.2019. The petition is allowed in the above terms with no order as to cost. Dasti.
