The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent no.2 to provide necessary protection to the petitioners.

It is stated that petitioner no.1 had converted her religion prior to her marriage and the petitioners had married contrary to the wishes of the family members of petitioner no.1. The petitioners state that they both are adults

and have married out of their free will. It is further averred that the petitioners apprehend harm at the hands of family members of petitioner no.1 as they are dissatisfied with the said alliance and have threatened the petitioners.

The learned counsel appearing for the State states that inquiries had been made at the address of the petitioners (as mentioned in the petition) and the same was found locked.

In view of the averments made in the present petition, the petitioners are directed to appear before the SHO Police Station Fatehpur Beri, Delhi. The SHO is directed to evaluate the threat perception and take such steps to protect the petitioners as he considers necessary. The SHO shall provide the phone number of the beat officials in order to enable the petitioners to reach them in case of any eventuality. If any complaint is filed by the petitioner(s), the SHO is directed to take action on the same in accordance with law. 7.
