CORAM:

O R D E R
% 10.02.2020 1.
The present petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeks extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of the award. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the learned Arbitrator was appointed pursuant to an order passed by this Court on 13.07.2017 and despite the parties having diligently participated in the arbitration proceedings, the same have yet not concluded. The mandate of the Arbitrator has, in the meanwhile, expired on 18.01.2020. He, therefore, prays that the time for completion of proceedings and rendering of the award be extended for a further period of six months effective from 18.01.2020. 3.
Learned counsel for the respondent does not oppose the said prayer.
4.
Keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended by six months effective from 18.01.2020. The mandate of the learned Arbitrator is thus extended till 17.07.2020.
5.
The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. REKHA PALLI, J.
