% 04.03.2024 By way of the present petition under section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996 ('A&C Act'), the petitioner seeks extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator who is seized of the disputes between the parties.

Mr. Arjun Mitra, learned counsel appears on behalf of the respondent on advance copy; accepts notice; and leaves it to the court to pass appropriate orders.

The record shows that the learned Sole Arbitrator was appointed vide order dated 05.02.2021 made in ARB. P. No. 81/2021. He entered upon the reference on 23.02.2021; and the last extended mandate expired on 29.02.2024.

E-mail dated 25.02.2024 sent by the learned Arbitrator to the Delhi International Arbitration Centre records, that arguments in the matter have been concluded and that the matter is now pending for passing of the award. By the said e-mail the learned Arbitrator has sought 04 weeks time for passing the final award in the matter. Upon a conspectus of the averments contained in the petition and the submissions made, the petition is allowed; and the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended for 06 weeks from today. 7.
It is further observed that any arbitral proceedings conducted after the last mandate expired, shall also stand regularised and validated. 8.
Petition stands disposed-of in the above terms. 9.
Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed-of.
