Writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 ('BNSS') has been preferred on behalf of petitioner with the following prayers : "A. Direct the Respondent No.1-4 to safeguard the life and liberty of the Petitioner and to ensure that the family members of the Petitioner are not in any grave danger. B. Direct the Respondent No.2 to provide the protection to the Petitioner and his family and further refrain the respondent nos. 5,6 & 7 and their associates from troubling and W.P.(CRL) 698/2025 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. threatening the Petitioner and his family members at the instance of Respondent Nos. 5,6&7 and their associates and to follow the settled legal positions. and C. Direct the Respondent Nos.5, 6 and 7 and their associates to refrain from getting indulged into any illegal activities and not to cause any harm to the lives and liberty of the Petitioner and his family members."

Learned APP for the State / respondent no. 1 to 4 appears on advance notice and accepts notice.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner had obtained loan from respondent no. 5 to 7, who are involved in business of money lending. Further, though the loan amount has already been paid, petitioner has been receiving threats from respondent no. 5 to 7 in order to extort money from the petitioner.

Learned APP for the State submits that the complaint dated 24.02.2025 received on 25.02.2025 is being looked into by the Investigating Agency and the outcome of the same shall be informed to the petitioner within a period of four weeks. He further submits that phone numbers of Division Officer as well as Beat Officer have been shared with the petitioner to obviate apprehensions, if any.
