By way of the present application under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the applicant seeks extension of interim bail granted by this Court by order dated 01.04.2026, in connection with FIR No. 208/2025 dated 15.05.2025, registered at Police Station Paschim Vihar West, Outer District, New Delhi, under Sections 109(1)/118(2)/351(3)/61(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. 2.

The application for interim bail was initially filed for the purpose of securing school admission of his four year old son. However, in the course of hearing, it was submitted that the applicant's mother had also passed away on 27.03.2026. He was, therefore, granted interim bail until 08.04.2026, specifically recording as follows: "5. Mr. Sharma has also made it clear that this period of interim bail, if granted, will cover the aforesaid religious ceremonies, and the applicant will also utilize this time to arrange for his son's school BAIL APPLN. 1109/2026 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. admission and any financial arrangements that may be necessary." 3.

The applicant was released on interim bail for a period of one week on his assurance that he would complete the child's admission during that period, in addition to attending the religious ceremonies following his mother's demise. However, an extension is now sought on the ground that the child's school admission has not yet been formalised, as time is required for processing of the child's Aadhar card. 4.

As far as the child's admission is concerned, the status report placed on record shows that the applicant's family resides in a joint family, which includes his mother, his wife, and two brothers. The applicant also has three elder brothers, who live in the same locality. 5.

Having regard to the aforesaid circumstances, I am of the view that a prolonged extension is not justified, but an extension of a short period will enable the applicant to arrange the documentation, including the Aadhar card of his son.

For the aforesaid reasons, the application is disposed of by extending the interim bail granted to the applicant until 11.04.2026 by 05:00 PM, subject to the conditions as imposed by the order dated 01.04.2026.
