This writ petition has been filed on behalf of the Petitioners under Section 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking the following reliefs:

"(a) Issue a Writ of Mandamus directing Respondent Nos. 1 to 5 to provide protection to Petitioners in order to safeguard their lives and personal liberties;

(b) Issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent Nos. 4 & 5 to take appropriate legal action against Respondent Nos. 6, 7 & 8 in accordance with law for the threats extended by them to the Petitioners; and/or (c) Issue any other order, direction or writ as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case in favour of the Petitioner and against the Respondents."

Status Report has been filed, in which it is stated that the Petitioner No.1 filed a complaint in PS: Laxmi Nagar vide Diary No.G-27 dated 14.03.2022 alleging that she married Petitioner No.2 on 08.03.2022 at Arya Samaj Mandir, Ghaziabad and marriage was registered with the Marriage Registration Officer-V, Ghaziabad but her family members are against the marriage being an inter-caste marriage, she apprehends an untoward incident W.P.(CRL) 563/2022 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. and therefore sought protection.

After receiving the complaint, the police officials visited the premises at the given address where he met one Indu Sharma, who stated that she was living at the said address for last 15 years as a tenant and Petitioner No.1 was a friend of her daughter. She confirmed the marriage between the Petitioners and also the fact that they were staying with her. Mobile phone numbers of the Beat Staff and SHO, PS: Laxmi Nagar were provided to the Petitioners and they were assured of their security. On 17.03.2022, Petitioners No.1 and 2 gave written information in PS: Laxmi Nagar that they were going to Jodhpur, Rajasthan on account of Holi to the house of Petitioner No.2 and would inform after their return. On 12.05.2022, Petitioners were contacted telephonically and they informed that they were presently living in Jodhpur. Thereafter, there has been no communication from the Petitioners.

Learned ASC appearing on behalf of the State, on instructions, submits that Petitioners are no more residing within the jurisdiction of PS: Laxmi Nagar. Counsel for the Petitioners does not press the present petition. 5.

In view of the aforesaid, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition. Needless to state that in case Petitioners require any assistance or help, it will be open to them to contact the SHO of the area concerned within whose jurisdiction they are or will be residing. 6.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.
