The instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 'BNSS') has been filed on behalf of petitioners seeking following prayer: "a) To direct the concerned authorities including the Delhi Police, to provide the Petitioners with immediate protection and accommodation in a safe house. b) To restrain the respondent 2 and 3 from harassing, threatening, or intimidating the Petitioners in any manner whatsoever.."

Investigating Officer (IO) SI Sachin has appeared through video conferencing, as the case has been put before this Court on urgent mentioning before Division Bench-1.

Brief facts of the case are that the petitioners have solemnized their inter-caste marriage on 08.02.2025 as per Hindu rites and rituals at Shree Sanatan Vedic Vivah Mandal, Ward No.17, Loharu Road, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana (127306). It is stated that respondent 2, who is the father of petitioner no. 1, had come alongwith other family members and village persons at her father-in-law's house at abovementioned address and had threatened and warned them of dire consequences. 6.

It is further stated that the petitioners had submitted written complaint to SHO at Police Station- Baba Haridas Nagar, Najafgarh, Delhi against respondent no. 2 and other persons. It is further stated that the petitioners had also approached the DCP South West Delhi, Sector-19, Dwarka, Dehi requesting for providing protection and safe-house accommodation as they have no safe place to stay. However, SHO concerned had not taken any lawful action on the written complaint. Despite making several efforts, no satisfactory answer or any investigation was carried out in the said case. Neither did the competent authorities provide protection to the petitioners. Therefore, it is prayed that protection be granted to the petitioners from the respondents.

Heard the submissions on behalf of petitioners as well as the State. 8.

This Court notes that as far prayer „A‟ is concerned, the same cannot be the subject matter of present writ jurisdiction, and the petitioners herein have to approach appropriate authorities in accordance with law. 9.

fact that petitioners have prayed for protection of their life as they are apprehending threat from the respondents, the petitioners are directed to provide their mobile number to the concerned Investigating Officer and SHO. Similarly, the mobile numbers of concerned IO, SHO and beat constable be also shared with the petitioners. 10.

The officials of Police Station Baba Haridas Nagar, Dwarka District, Delhi including SHO are directed to provide adequate protection to the petitioners from the above-mentioned persons, in case such circumstances arise and they approach them, immediately upon being contacted. 11.

The learned counsel appearing for petitioners states that he is satisfied with the aforesaid arrangement.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of in above terms.
