% 13.02.2019 The petitioner's grievance is that adjudication in respect of 39 Bills of Entry (BoEs) out of 343 BoEs filed by it towards importation of raw material for manufacture of steel products was finalized without granting it liberty of personal hearing. It seeks direction for the quashing of the demand to the tune of `8.57 crores in the circumstances.

Learned counsel for the Revenue appears and submits that according to the instructions received by her, the Customs authorities would give an appropriate personal hearing to the petitioner to present its submissions and then proceed to pass a speaking order. In the circumstances, the order dated 29.01.2019 is kept in abeyance; the

respondents shall issue a notice for personal hearing to the petitioner granting it reasonable opportunity to make its submission and after hearing, pass a reasoned order which shall be communicated to the petitioner. Till the issuance of the speaking order, the impugned demand shall be kept in abeyance. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms along with the pending applications. S.
