By this writ petition, Petitioner seeks quashing of impugned order dated 25.01.2021 whereby he has been disqualified to contest elections for 6 years in terms of Rule 110 of Delhi Municipal Corporation (Election of Councillors) Rules, 2012.

Considering that no elections are upcoming in the near future wherein candidature of the Petitioner will be impacted by the impugned order, this writ petition is disposed of at this stage, leaving the question of law open and with liberty to the Petitioner to take recourse to legal remedies in case any fresh cause of action arises and/or to seek revival of the writ petition, if the circumstances so warrant.
