This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), praying for a Writ of Habeas Corpus for the production of Ms. XXXX, the minor daughter of the petitioner, who is aged about 17 years.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State has handed over a copy of the Status Report dated 28.03.2026, which inter alia states that the minor daughter of the petitioner has been recovered pursuant to the information received from Child Welfare Committee, Jammu. She was thereafter brought to Delhi and produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Kasturba Niketan Complex, Lajpat Nagar-II, New Delhi, which has passed certain directions with respect to the counselling and custody of the child. the girl under Section 183 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) has also been recorded.

As the child has now been recovered and the proceedings are pending before the concerned Child Welfare Committee, no further directions are required to be passed in the present petition. The same is accordingly disposed of.
