The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to complete the investigation in FIR No. 87/2021 dated 10.02.2021, registered under Sections 420/468/471/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, ["IPC"], at Police Station Shalimar Bagh, District North West, Delhi, in a time-bound manner and to file a final report before the competent Court within the period granted by this Court. 2.

Mr. Rahul Tyagi, learned Additional Standing Counsel, appears on behalf of the State on advance notice and, upon instructions, states that the investigation will be completed within a period of seven weeks from today and the final report will be filed before the competent Court. Mr. Laksh Khanna, learned counsel for the petitioner, refers to an order dated 27.08.2024 in W.P. (CRL.) 2573/2024, wherein a similar statement was made, upon instructions from the same IO, to the effect that the investigation would be completed within three to four months, but submits that the investigation has not yet been completed. 4.

Having regard to this position, the undertaking of the IO is taken on record. It is further directed that a copy of this order be forwarded by the IO to the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police to ensure due compliance.

The writ petition, alongwith the pending applications, is disposed of with these directions.

It is made clear that this Court has not examined the veracity of any of the allegations made against the accused, and the State is directed to proceed strictly in accordance with law.
