This is a petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making the arbitral award.

Material on record discloses that vide Order dated 15.12.2021, appointed Mr. Amar Nath, DHJS (Retd.), as the Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate on the disputes between the parties. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended from time to time. The last such extension was granted by this Court vide Order dated 19.11.2024 by which the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended till 16.03.2025. learned Arbitrator. The Petitioner has, therefore, approached this Court for extension of time for making the award.

The Respondent has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator.

In view of the fact that the matter has been reserved, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 31.10.2025 with effect from 16.03.2025 so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required by the Tribunal. 5.
