% 04.03.2024 By way of the present petition filed under Section 29A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, the petitioner seeks an extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of six months. Issue notice.
Mr.Rajat Navet, learned counsel accepts notice for the respondent. Learned counsels for both parties submit that the learned arbitrator has already reserved the order, however, the mandate has expired on 20.02.2024. Learned counsels submit that the mandate may be extended for a period of six months for passing the award. In view of the submissions made, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended till 20.08.2024. The period from 20.02.2024 is also regularised.
