December, 2023.
Thus, on the said date, the Court directed the Respondent/State to continue efforts to locate the Petitioner's daughter. 4.
As recorded vide orders dated 1st April, 2024 and 15th April, 2024, repeated efforts were made by the Delhi Police and, thereafter, the matter was assigned to DIU (District Investigating Unit), North-East District. Various Status Reports dated 4th March, 2024, 18th March, 2024, 1st April, 2024, 15th April, 2024, 10th May, 2024 have been filed from time to time. Finally, the matter was to be listed on 22th July, 2024. 5.
Today, the matter was mentioned by the learned Standing Counsel Mr. Sanjay Lao who stated that the Petitioner's daughter has been located and recovered, and that they would like to produce the girl before the Court. The matter was then directed to be listed in the supplementary list. 6.
The Petitioner's daughter as also her parents i.e., Mr. Devraj Singh and Ms. Kamlesh have appeared before the Court. Ms. Sangita Tiwari, the Investigating Officer DIU (District Investigating Unit), North-East District has also appeared.
7.
The Court has interacted with the parents and the girl, in Chamber. It is her stand that she was living with one Mr. Raman Puri for the last seven months. However, upon being questioned, as to with whom she wishes to live now, she states that she is happy to move back in with her parents i.e., the Petitioner and his wife.
8.
The Court has also interacted with the girl's parents, who stated that although they have been troubled a lot due to the girl being missing for the last seven months, they are now willing to accept her. They have two more children and they are residents of Karawal Nagar. The Petitioner/father, especially, has commended the efforts made by the IO-Ms. Sangita Tiwari in The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
locating the girl.
9.
Since the girl is willing to go back and move in with her parents, she has been handed over to the parents i.e., the Petitioner and his wife today, though she is a major.
10.
The IO has informed the Court that the girl was traced after enormous effort and enquiries made with digital platforms about Mr. Puri's email address and the IP address. The Court records its appreciation for the efforts put by IO-Ms. Sangita Tiwari in tracing the missing girl. 11.
