Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.Sanjay Lao, learned Standing Counsel (Criminal) for respondent-GNCTD and Mr.Chetan Sharma, learned ASG for respondent-Union of India. 2.

Taking cognizance of this petition, the Court vide its order dated 19.03.2026 had issued detailed directions.

An affidavit has been filed by the petitioner, which is taken on record. In the said affidavit, it has been recorded by the petitioner that it would like to place on record its appreciation for the manner in which the directions issued by the Court were implemented by the Delhi Police. Certain other averments have also been made in the affidavit. 4.

We would like to extract paragraph no.3 and 6 of the said affidavit, which read as under:

"3. That the Petitioner Organisation would like to place on record its appreciation of the manner in which the the directions of the Delhi High Court were implemented by the Delhi Police. This included taking local stakeholders into confidence, formation of peace committees, regular flag marches and deployment of adequate security measures to prevent anti-social elements from disturbing the peace.

6. That the order passed by this Hon'ble Court in the present case, as well as the actions of the Delhi Police, have gone a long way in restoring confidence and creating goodwill among members of all communities in Uttam Nagar. In fact, we believe that the manner in which security measures were undertaken and communicated to the general public will serve as a model for dealing with communally sensitive situations by the police and administrative machinery in other parts of the country. We submit that local peace committees, who could then liaison with the police authorities, could become a standard model across sensitive districts for preservation of peace and harmony. We further pray that, in continuance of the measures undertaken to ensure maintenance of peace and security, the Delhi Police will carry out a thorough investigation into the outside elements who had sought to create a communally polarised atmosphere in Uttam Nagar in the lead up to the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations."

In view of the aforesaid, we are of the opinion that proceedings of this writ petition may not be required to be continued any further. The petition is, thus, disposed of. We would like to place on record our appreciation for the efforts made by the concerned DCP Kushal Pal Singh, Addl.DCP Niharika, ACP Sanjeev Kumar and his team for ensuring that all the three festivals of Eid ul-Fitr, Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti were celebrated peacefully and in a law abiding manner.
