7.

The petitioner is present in Court and has given a DD bearing No.516959 dated 24.02.2025 drawn on ICICI Bank of a sum of Rs. 1,60,000/- to respondent No. 2.

8.

Both the parties state that they have arrived at a settlement out of their own free will, without any threat, coercion, pressure or undue influence.

9.

In addition, there is no child borne out of the wedlock.

10. Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and has no objection to the quashing of the present FIR.

11. I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

12. For the said reasons, FIR No. 289/2017 dated 08.05.2017 under Sections 498A/34 of IPC registered at PS Bindapur and the proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.

13. The petition is allowed and is disposed of accordingly.
