The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent/ IRCTC to renew the license of the petitioner for an additional period of three (3) years, as per Clause 3.1 of the Tender Document and Clause 3.1 of the agreement dated 10th August, 2016 for the operation and management of the Food Plaza at CSMT (Main Line) Railway Station. 2.

On the last date on 23rd March, 2026, petitioner submitted that the license of the petitioner is set to expire on 27th March, 2026 and the petitioner seeks extension in view of communication by the respondent/ IRCTC.

Ms. Manisha Singh, counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent/ IRCTC was asked to take instructions in this regard. 3.

Ms. Manisha Singh has obtained instructions and has informed the court about a communication dated 12th February, 2026 sent by the West Zone of IRCTC to the Corporate Office wherein it has been recommended that the petitioner should be granted an extension for a period of one (1) year from 28th March, 2026 up to 28th March, 2027. She further submits that the said recommendation is still under consideration by the Corporate Office. 4.

In view thereof, the present writ petition is disposed of while directing the respondent/ IRCTC to communicate the formal decision of the respondent/ IRCTC to the petitioner.

The pending application is also disposed of.

All rights, contentions and legal remedies of the petitioner are kept open.

Needless to state, the petitioner shall not be evicted till a final decision is taken by the respondent/ IRCTC.
