This petition seeks a direction to the Respondents to permit the Petitioner to appear in the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026, on account of an alleged error in the answer key of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024. It is her case that the same has resulted in her non-qualification for the subsequent stage of the examination. 2.
At the outset, this Court has considered the maintainability of the present petition. The grievance raised by the Petitioner arises out of a recruitment process conducted by the Union Public Service Commission,1 and disputes relating to such recruitment ordinarily fall within the jurisdiction of the Central Administrative Tribunal2 under the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985. the Supreme Court in L. Chandra Kumar v. Union of India,3 the Petitioner has an efficacious alternative remedy before the Tribunal, and therefore, the writ jurisdiction of this Court cannot be invoked at the first instance. 3.
Considering the above, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present petition in view of the availability of an alternate efficacious remedy before CAT.

Accordingly, the petition is dismissed with liberty to the Petitioner to take recourse to appropriate remedies in accordance with law before CAT. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of. SANJEEV NARULA, J MARCH 23, 2026 nk 3 AIR 1997 SC 1125.
