By way of the present petition filed under Section 29A (4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, the petitioner seeks an extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of six months for concluding the Arbitral proceedings and passing the Award. 4.

It has been submitted that the learned Arbitrator was appointed vide order dated 09.04.2021. After completion of the pleadings, issues were framed on 23.02.2022.

mandate was extended by this court for a period of six months with effect from 01.09.2023 in O.M.P (MISC.) (COMM.) 458 of 2023. 6.

Issue notice.

Learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and submits that the respondent has no objection to the prayer made in the petition. 8.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that the arbitral proceedings are at the final stage and a request has been made for the extension of the mandate for six months.

Considering the aforesaid request and the no objection given by the other side, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of six months from today. Further, the period lapsed from 29.02.2024 till date is regularised.
