Counsel, as above, accept notice for the respondents. At joint request the matter is taken up for hearing and disposal. The petitioner apprehends arrest and coercive measures by Calcutta Police in an on-going investigation regarding FIR no. 06/2019 dated 03.01.2019 registered at Police Station Patashpur, Distt. Purba Medinipur, West Bengal under Sections 419/420/120B of the IPC and Section 8/12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, in which many persons are stated to have been arrested. He seeks a week's protection from arrest to facilitate him to initiate appropriate measures before the jurisdictional Court.

In the circumstances, the petitioner is granted protection for one week from today or till the filing of an application for anticipatory

bail, whichever is earlier. The petition is disposed off in the above terms.
