Petitioner herein seeks quashing of FIR No. 36/2025 dated 01.08.2025, registered at Police Station Cyber Police, North West, Delhi, for commission of offence under Section 318 (4) of BNS, 2023 (corresponding Section 420 of IPC), along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties. 2.
Learned Standing Counsel for State appears on advance notice. 3.
Fact, however, remains that the investigation is still going on as no charge-sheet has so far been filed before the Court. 4.
Moreover, the offence in question is compoundable in nature. 5.
After hearing arguments for some time, learned counsel for petitioner, without prejudice to his rights and contentions, does not press the present petition at this juncture. He, however, submits that he would, after filing of charge-sheet, file appropriate application seeking compounding of offence before the Competent Court or if need so arises, he would file a fresh petition W.P.(CRL) 943/2026 1 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
