% 19.02.2019 The petitioner apprehends great threat to his life, limb and liberty at the hands of persons named in the complaint to the police dated 09.01.2019. The said persons are alleged to have extorted Rs.2 lacs from the petitioner by putting a pistol at his temple and on one occasion, they also thrashed him mercilessly and on another occasion they ransacked his office and threatened his employees.
Issue notice. Mr. Rajesh Mahajan, the learned ASC for the State, accepts notice.
He states, upon instructions, that the main accused Keshav Kukkad has since been arrested on 30.01.2019 and investigations are underway. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the arrested person has criminal antecedents and his accomplice continue to extend threat. In view of the above, let this petition be treated as the petitioner's
representation by the DCP of the area concerned and the petitioner may meet the DCP on 27.02.2019. The DCP shall look into the matter and may pass appropriate orders, as he may deem fit in the facts and circumstances of the case.
